James Rae is one of Europe’s most published writers of educational wind music. As a freelance clarinettist and saxophonist he has worked in nearly every possible musical situation, from West End musicals to engagements with some of the country’s major orchestras. James has tutored and conducted on many courses over the last 25 years and is currently professor of saxophone for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Matthew Stewart graduated from the Royal Academy of Music Jazz Course in 1996. Since that time he has been working both as a professional freelance musician and teacher. He has performed both at home and abroad with many bands and groups and currently teaches saxophone and clarinet at King’s College School (Wimbledon) and Shrewsbury House School (Surbiton)
Paul Thomas studied guitar at the London College of Music and Trinity College of Music. He has since been working as a freelance musician in jazz and rock styles. Paul is currently teaching electric guitar at King’s College School, Wimbledon and the University of Surrey.
Richard Coles studied drums at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was awarded the prestigious BBC Big Band Drummer of the Year award and has performed in many West End shows. He has also featured on numerous recording sessions for TV and radio.
Jeremy Gough is a freelance trombone player and experienced teacher. He was Principal Trombone in the original London production of “Miss Saigon” and has deputised in several West End shows including Starlight Express, Top Hat and The Lion King. He is a member of The London Mozart Players and London Concert Orchestra and plays in the band for the Anton du Beke and Erin Boag yearly tour.
